Trust & Safety on Altmo Rentals
Every user on Altmo has a trust score from 0 to 100. It helps owners and renters feel confident about who they're dealing with — and rewards good behaviour on the platform.
How Trust Scores Work
Your trust score is a number between 0 and 100. It's built from two things:
- 1. Your actions — rental history, ratings you've received, how reliably you meet commitments, and profile completeness.
- 2. Your referral network — when people you invite go on to rent or list bikes, that adds a small trust bonus.
Exact point weights are kept private to prevent gaming, but the guidance below tells you everything you need to improve your score.

Referral Bonus
When you invite friends to Altmo and they go on to rent or list bicycles, you earn a small network trust bonus. The more active your referrals are, the more your score benefits — it's a way of recognising that trustworthy people tend to know other trustworthy people.
Rating Gates
After every rental, both the renter and the owner must leave a rating before they can start or confirm their next rental. This keeps the feedback system honest and ensures trust scores stay accurate and up to date.
Trust-Based Perks
Some owners may offer special deals, discounts, or priority access to renters with higher trust scores. A strong trust score can unlock better rental experiences across the platform.
